Earl F. Morris
Endowed Scholarship Program
This scholarship program was started in 1992 in memory of Earl F. Morris, long time trustee and volunteer for The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC), graduate of Wittenberg University, and founding partner of the Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur law firm in Columbus. The donor’s intent is to distribute annually the memorial fund earnings as scholarships to promising and dedicated pre-law students. A representative of the Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur law firm will serve on the selection committee. Decisions will be based on the submitted information. Any student who will be a senior in the 2024-2025 academic year and is enrolled at an OFIC member institution is eligible to apply. Scholarship awards will be added to scholars’ financial aid packages.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
U.S. citizen
Qualify for financial aid
Enrolled full-time in an OFIC member college
Pre-law student (applicant's intent, not necessarily major)
Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
Senior class rank for the 2024-2025 academic year
Demonstrate strong leadership skill
Involved in campus and/or community activities
The following application materials are required:
Online application including a 1-2 page personal statement
Faculty recommendation
Verification of financial need
Approval of pre-law advisor
An official copy of college transcript
Deadline for completion of the application - Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
