Awards and Grants
Each year, OFIC gives out a select number of awards to recognize and honor the hard work and dedication of individuals in numerous categories. For more information or to nominate, view the programs below.
OFIC Hall of Excellence
In 1987, OFIC initiated the Evening of Excellence program to honor outstanding alumni of its member institutions.
Each year, OFIC member colleges are invited to nominate an alumna/alumnus to be considered for induction into The Hall of Excellence. Inductees are chosen by a committee of OFIC presidential and corporate trustees based on the criteria of professional achievement.

Earl F. Morris Trustee Award
This award was established in 2010 and each year recognizes an exceptional campus trustee who is currently serving on the Board of an OFIC member college or university. The award honors Attorney Earl F. Morris, who was a Wittenberg University graduate, a founding partner of the law firm Porter, Wright, Morris, and Arthur. Mr. Morris was an early inductee into the OFIC Hall of Excellence and served OFIC for 41 remarkable years as a volunteer and valued member of the OFIC Board of Trustees. Nominations for the 2025 honoree are due by Monday, March 10, 2025.
OFIC Inspiration Awards Program
The OFIC Inspiration Award is a recognition of the people and programs related to The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges that celebrate diversity and embrace all the ways our member campuses and communities can encourage our unique abilities and experiences for the greater good. The next award will be presented at the annual OFIC Awards Luncheon on April 9, 2025. Nominations are due by Monday, March 10, 2025.
Inspiration Diversity Campus Grants
At OFIC, we believe diversity is like a mosaic—an ever-evolving masterpiece created from unique, vibrant perspectives. Each individual adds a distinct piece to the larger picture, and together, these pieces form a dynamic and growing whole. This year, we’re excited to bring back the Inspiration Diversity Campus Grants for 2025, offering $2,500 to support innovative programs that celebrate diversity, promote equity, and foster inclusion.
This grant is more than just funding—it’s an opportunity to empower your campus community to shape and reshape the mosaic of diversity through collaboration, creativity, and action.
