Mae Ward Educational Trust Scholarship Program

Welcome to the Mae Ward Educational Trust Scholarship Program. Mae Ward was a school teacher in Boyd County, Kentucky for 43 years. Mrs. Ward established her trust for students who are graduating or who have graduated from Boyd County, KY high schools. Her objective was to provide financial resources to eligible young men and women who were scheduled to graduate from high school in the current year so that they might have the resources to pursue a college degree. The recipients shall possess outstanding character and promise as reflected by their record of service to their neighbors, community and family and their reputation for honesty and integrity. Scholarship Requirements

  • High school graduates of a high school located in Boyd County, Kentucky.

  • Attended a Boyd County high school for at least three years preceding the scholarship application date.

  • Attending an accredited college or university in the upcoming academic year.

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 by the end of the first semester of the year of application.

  • Have an ACT score of 20 or higher.

  • Must complete the online application.

    • Materials you will need to upload: current academic transcript, FAFSA results, and 3 letters of recommendation.

  • If awarded, a campus award letter will be required to verify if financial need remains after other awards.

 Application deadline is Monday, January 31, 2025 at midnight EST.
