The Joe Stigler Scholarship Fund
The Joe Stigler Scholarship Fund and VEGA America's, Inc have established a scholarship program to assist employees' children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student's choice.
Applicant Eligibility Criteria*
Must be a dependent*, age 24 and under, of an eligible** full-time employee of VEGA Americas, Inc. or Grieshaber Precision America, Inc.; undergraduates;
Currently enrolled or preparing to enroll in postsecondary study at an accredited two or four-year college, university, or qualifying trade/vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year;
*Dependent children are defined as biological children, stepchildren or legally adopted children living in the employee's household or primarily supported by the employee.
Employee Eligibility Criteria**
The full-time employee must have a minimum of twenty-four (24) consecutive months of employment with VEGA Americas or Grieshaber Precision America as of the application deadline date;
Must be either a citizen of the United States or a legal permanent U.S. resident with intent to remain (green card holder) but not non-immigrants living and working in the country on a temporary basis (F-1, K-1, L-1, B1/B2 visas, or others with temporary protected status).
Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award of up to $2,500 for one academic year. The maximum per family per year is $2,500; this amount can be divided among eligible siblings. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the programs each year they meet eligibility requirements. Awards are for undergraduate study only. Applicants to both the Joe Stigler Scholarship and VEGA Grieshaber Family Scholarship will only be eligible to receive one (1) award.
Selection of Recipients
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship Management Resources. In no instance does any officer or employee of the Joe Stigler Scholarship Fund or VEGA Americas, Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Applicants will be notified of award and regret decisions in May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Payment of Scholarship
Scholarship Management Resources processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Joe Stigler Scholarship Fund. Payments are made in June. Checks are mailed to each recipient's campus and are made payable to the school for the student.
Deadline for applications is 11:59 p.m. EST, Wednesday, May 15th, 2024.
Program Administration
The Joe Stigler Scholarship Fund and VEGA Americas, Inc. have partnered with Scholarship Management Resources (SMR,) an independent scholarship services provider, to establish and administer this scholarship program, including selecting the recipients. This ensures the selection process is fair and objective based on the criteria above.
