What are the criteria for eligibility?

Eligibility requirements:
This scholarship is for dependent children* of active full-time employees of Doosan Bobcat, which includes the Bobcat Company, Doosan Bobcat North America, Doosan Digital Innovation America, Doosan Portable Power, DIVAC, Ryan, Steiner, or Geith brands) located in the U.S. and Canada (including U.S. expatriates) applying for the 2025-2026 academic year.
If you are a child of a full-time, active employee and receive tuition reimbursement or financial assistance from the company, you are ineligible for this scholarship. Applicant requirements for this scholarship are:
1. Complete the online application.
2. Essay within the application – Minimum of 300 words, addressing official question, using proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.3. Letter of Recommendation – by teacher, counselor, or employer on official letterhead with contact information and original signature.
4. Official Academic Transcripts from registrar (not internet) for past two semesters or three quarters from high school, college, university or trade school.
5. Photo – within the application, upload a high-quality photo of yourself. If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, we will share your photo in an internal announcement.
6. Official transcripts and photo must be uploaded to the scholarship application. Letters of recommendation may be uploaded, emailed to Loren Hughes at hughes@ofic.org or mailed to:

How do I apply?

The deadline for submission of the online application and receipt of an official transcript, letter of recommendation and high-quality digital photo is April 15, 2025. Official transcripts and photo must be uploaded to the scholarship application. Letters of recommendation may be uploaded or emailed to Loren Hughes at hughes@ofic.org or mailed to: OFIC/SMR/DOOSAN, 60 Collegeview Rd., Room 107 Westerville, OH 43081.

What is SMR?
A.
Scholarship Management Resources (SMR) is an independent scholarship services provider that is partnering with Doosan Bobcat to help administer this scholarship program, website, and application.
Q.
Is applying online safe?
A.
Yes. Your personally identifiable information is kept secure. Only authorized Doosan Bobcat employees and agents (who have agreed to keep information secure and confidential) have access to this information. To protect the information being gathered, the scholarship application site has security measures in place including firewalls, encryption, and authenticated access to internal databases where needed.

How do you decide who will receive the awards?
A.
Selections will be completed by Scholarship Management Resources (SMR), an independent third-party scholarship administrator, to ensure fair and unbiased awards. Applications will be judged in the following manner: 60% academic, 20% content, clarity, and spelling of essay, 20% awards, honors, activities, and completed application. We reserve the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time, including termination of the program.

How and when will students be notified of decisions?

All applicants will be notified of the final results by May 2025.

How and when will the awards be paid?
A.
Award funds will be distributed directly to the scholars' institutions at the end of July 2025.

Are these scholarships renewable?
A.
Yes, but scholars will need to reapply each year, and renewal scholarships are not guaranteed.
Q.
What is an official transcript?
A.
This academic record must come from your high school guidance office or college registrar’s office and be signed by an appropriate official at the school or college. Unofficial records printed from the internet or other unofficial copies are not accepted.
