Beatrice I. Goss Scholarship Fund

Welcome to the Beatrice I. Goss Scholarship Fund Program.

Beatrice I. Goss established the scholarship in her Last Will and Testament. She was born January 4, 1897, at South Bend, Indiana, to O.T. and Eva (Balsley) Goss, had lived in Culver since 1906, and passed away in Plymouth on September 12, 1979. She was a 1915 Culver High School graduate. She studied at South Bend Conservatory of Music and Sherwood Music at Chicago. She received her B.A. degree in 1926 and then taught music at Fine Arts School of South Bend and at the institution’s Plymouth branch. She also gave private piano lessons at Culver for many years.

The purpose of the Fund is to encourage and support worthy students in continuing their education through scholarships. Applicants for a Beatrice I. Goss Scholarship must be residents of Marshall County, Indiana. In accordance with Miss Goss’ wish, special consideration will be given to their need for financial assistance.

The Beatrice I. Goss Scholarship is awarded without regard to age, sex, race, creed, or national origin. The awards are grants based upon academic record, financial need, musical ability (when applicable), and character but not necessarily in that order.
