OFIC Welcomes Brian Reed to Board of Trustees
Brian Reed, Business Development Executive, Lehman Daman and New OFIC Trustee
The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC) is excited to announce the appointment of Brian Reed to its Board of Trustees. With a deep-rooted passion for education and a diverse career background, Reed has experience and a mindset that coincides with OFIC’s mission and values.
Reed’s academic journey features a BSBA from The Ohio State University, followed by an MBA from Clemson University. His public-school higher education background has given him a unique perspective and a deep appreciation for the essential role that private or independent universities play in enriching the state's educational landscape.
“I don’t know how you begin to measure the importance of Ohio’s independent colleges and universities, but I do know the important role they must play for today’s students and tomorrow's workforce,” Reed said.
Since joining Lehman Daman in 2023 as the Business Development Executive, Reed has played a strategic role in driving growth for the construction company, which is divided into two main divisions; large commercial projects and services. In his position, he actively fosters new business opportunities and leverages his extensive experience to enhance the company's market presence.
Reed’s career also includes experience with colleges here in Ohio such as consulting at Ohio Wesleyan University last summer and previously teaching at Columbus State Community College in Central Ohio.
As a new corporate trustee of OFIC, Reed is eager to address the challenges facing Ohio’s independent colleges. He believes by focusing on how best to support students, we can create a pathway that not only showcases their talents but also meets the evolving needs of Ohio’s economy.
“The pathway forward must involve a compelling story like some of the member colleges are already beginning to tell,” he said.
