American Packaging Corporation Scholarship Program

Student Requirements

We welcome you to apply and we look forward to assisting our employees’ dependents in continuing their education.

Eligibility:

  • Child/dependent under the age of 26 of an active American Packaging Corporation employee in good standing with a minimum of 1 year employment as of the scholarship application deadline.

  • Employee classifications: All APC employee dependents are eligible, aside from those of the Officers of the Company and executive committee. (CFO, CEO/President)

  • All GPA’s from previous academic year will be reviewed and taken into consideration.

  • High school seniors and current college students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees are eligible.

  • Applicants may attend any post-secondary institution including 2-year, 4-year colleges or universities, community colleges, and trade or technical colleges.

  • Applicants can pursue any major or area of study.

  • Applicants must truthfully complete the online application process, which includes answering the essay question about the students’ educational goals and how this scholarship will benefit them, and submitting a transcript and letter of recommendation.

  • Preference to applicants who demonstrate participation in extracurricular activities, community involvement and volunteerism (minimum of 20 service hours, including tutoring).

Selection Criteria

Scholarship Management Resources (SMR) is administering this program for the American Packaging Corporation.  Scholarship recipients will be chosen by SMR selection committee with consideration for applicant’s academic attainment/potential, leadership and participation in school and community, work experience, career and educational aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and letter of recommendation.  Financial need will not be considered.

American Packaging Corporation has partnered with SMR, an independent scholarship services provider, to establish and administer this scholarship program including selecting the recipients. This ensures the selection process is fair and objective based on the criteria above.

All applicants will receive award decisions by early June. Scholarships will be distributed to recipients’ campuses in July.

Awards

  • Twenty-eight $1,000 awards will be given to the top-ranking applicants.

  • Financial need will not be considered.

  • Scholars may re-apply for renewal but must continue to meet all criteria. Scholars who have not yet received the scholarship will receive preference. Renewal is not guaranteed.
