Job Title: Campaign and Grants Coordinator

Position Summary
The Campaign and Grants Coordinator is responsible for job functions related to the OFIC development (fundraising) program, including: researching, writing, and coordination of information for grants and proposals submitted to existing and prospective foundation and corporate partners; donor and prospect research; donor gift acknowledgments; and pledge reminders. This position requires organizing and managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously; and, effectively accomplishing the submission and dissemination of time-sensitive solicitation materials and campaign information that supports the OFIC staff and board members in carrying out the fundraising program. Position is full-time (40 hours/week), Monday through Friday, and reports to the President.
Responsibilities
Coordinate assigned aspects of the OFIC annual fundraising campaign, including the planning of solicitation letters, proposals and final grant reports, gift acknowledgement letters to donors, and pledge reminders when needed.
Researching, writing, editing grants and proposals (scholarship, unrestricted, programmatic) – with both original content and modifying existing content to align with donor goals of giving as well as OFIC needs – to present a dynamic, compelling OFIC case for support, while adhering to a deadline schedule for submission and any required final reports to donors. Accomplishment of these duties requires effective collaboration with appropriate staff to gather pertinent information/data required to complete grants and proposals. Grant and proposal requests are submitted in both paper form and electronically through donor giving portals.
In coordination with development staff and the Director of Scholarship Services, prepare scholarship agreements detailing scholarship criteria and funding amounts and distribute to donors and prospective donors.
Utilizing electronic and other resources, conduct research to identify donor and trustee prospects (corporations, foundations and individuals) with interest in funding and service to OFIC.
Research various resources to gather information and data for creation of scholarship and unrestricted grant requests and proposals, as well as other
Fundraising initiatives (e.g., The Council of Independent Colleges grant opportunities available to State Council Members, etc.), sharing this information/data appropriately with marketing and fundraising staff to build awareness of emerging funding request themes and data points used in proposals to help coordinate OFIC web and overall marketing updates.
Prepare communications, implement follow-up letter process for campaign solicitations, activities and projects, as needed, to assist the OFIC President and Regional Vice Presidents, Development, in performing tasks associated with successfully conducting the annual campaign.
As needed for campaign organization, maintain an annual campaign calendar.
Provide back-up assistance, on a limited as-needed basis, for gift processing and related donor database needs.
Work cooperatively and responsively with OFIC staff, trustees, and member campuses to carry out tasks required to accomplish the overall priorities of the organization.
Maintain confidentiality relative to staff, college/university and donor information.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred (may be substituted by relevant experience); minimum two years prior grant writing and administrative experience, preferably in a campus or non-profit environment; proficiency in Microsoft Office required; preference for donor database knowledge (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, etc.); excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects; ability to work both independently and in a team; commitment to nonprofit work, sense of humor, and good interpersonal skills, desired.
